Wooooooooo !!! We used to play with the Rock Band for PS3 specially the drum and guitar. My 12 years old kid downloaded the Shockwave song for Rock Band back on March or April and I heard it, played it in the drums and guitar. We (me, my 12 years old boy, and my 10 years old girl) were excited with the song but never look for the cd. Last week I went to Hot Topic and one of the guys there recommended me the Black Tide album. I got it and the picture on front of the cd was familiar to me. When I read the song list I saw Shockwave. Then I scan my mind and connected with the Rock Band Shockwave song downloaded a few months ago. When I played the cd, surprise !!!, it was the same song. My kids were excited, turned on the PS3, and we began playing the Shockwave song in Rock Band in Hard and Expert modes.
Stunning debut album. Been waiting for a revival for a long time. All this emo/screamo cr@p was getting to me. I hope you guys can inspire a new generation. Can't wait for more from you guys.
ps My son's 3 years old and he keeps asking me to play Warriors of Time. I oblige, naturally.
pps Any chance you could cover Maiden's - Murders in the Rue Morgue for the next album or b-side. I think it's the kinda song you could cover, and cover well. It's a classic rocker, just like you guys will be someday, hopefully.
Gabriel, Zakk, Alex, And Steven you are so FREAKIN' awsome. You're one of my all time favorite bands plus you're all really cute. I would love to go to one of your shows but there isn't one close to where I live. But I'm really hoping to see you in Atlanta this August. It would be the greatest thing in the world just to see you or better meet you.
Make "Warriors of Time" the next single........everyone please post this saying that you want the next single to be that song. So that maybe it will be done.
I've grabbed a couple of tracks off Light From Above, and intend to buy
it when it hits my area. Great work from some talented young
people...I didn't think anyone under the age of 25 even knew who the
hell Iron Maiden was anymore. :)
The music is well played, and I appreciate a band with a lead singer
that does something other than scream. Occasionally, the
lyrics are a little "off", perhaps due to the youth of the writers, but
the anthemic choruses and speed-demon riffage compensate for now.
It gives me something to listen to other than my collection of
Queensryche, Dream Theater, Metallica and Iron Maiden discs, and I am
looking forward to more from these guys.
I love Light From Above so much, it's my favorite CD. i love you guys so much. im going to my third black tide concert in july and i cant WAIT!!!! when i tell someone Im going to mayhem fest, they say "oh, you're going for slipknot and disturbed?". well, i do love those bands but im going for black tide because you guys are my favorite band of all time and i want nothing more than to meet you again. March 24th was the day of my second Black Tide concert and it was the best day of my life and I will never forget it. I had the best spot in the whole place, I was the closest to Gabriel, I got a poster signed, I got the pick from Zakk, and I got to meet Gabriel <3. I couldn't have asked for a better night. I know July 15th will also be amazing.
you guys are a awsome band

Black Tide - Light From Above
We probably have Trivium to thank for opening the door for teenage retro thrash bands these days. Now groups like the latter, Warbringer and Black Tide have pilfered their older brothers, if not parents, record collections and are brazenly trying to recreate a movement that defined the late 80's. However, with a stint on "Ozzfest" to their credit and a major label backing them, surely Black Tide are upping the ante?
Yeah, not so much. Predictable thrash regurgitation with liberal touches of Motley Crue, Iron Maiden and others makes for an album that is about as refreshing as alcohol-free beer. This music has been done and done better and aside from hyping up their young years, Black Tide have little that make them stand out in today's crowd. Sure the guitar work is actually impressive at times, but songs flush with boisterous melodic glammy choruses are about as fresh as a whiff of Vince Neil's 80's era cod piece.
Admittedly the youthful energy in place is definitely palpable and the guitar work can be rather energized and technical at times. But the vocals are far too predictable and the band seem unable to ever really hit their stride. Instead they come about as close to a nu-thrash boy band as one could expect. Each song is too immaculately constructed to be dangerous and too soft to be taken seriously - even for the power metal crowd. Do yourself a favor and buy a couple greatest hits releases from this bands readily-apparent influences and really 'hit the lights' instead.

Hey, So I called and emailed our local rock stations and told them the need to add you to the playlists. This morning I am on my way to work and "by request" they played Shockwave. My grin was self explaining. I LOVE IT! I'm pushin' for you guys. Stay on top.
okay so i went to best buy today to get you cd... i asked the people and they are all like 'We have some in the back, we just haven't gotten to getting them out yet, sorry' i was like wtf? but anyway, saw you guys back in november in chicago with a7x. you guys were insane. you shouldve at least been the co-headliner if not the headliner. the confession was okay.. and operator sucked... keep it up guys.
This cd owns, I don't think it will ever get old! In Tulsa, OK, you guys should def. have a meet-and-greet! You guys kicked major ass with A7X! "S13"
I PRE-ORDERED THIS CD. THERE LIKE 80'S THRASH AND THERE THE BEST YET. THERE LIKE THE NEXT GUNS N ROSES AND I'M PREPARED TO LISTEN TO ALL THE ALBUMS BEFORE I DIE. BUY THE CD.......DON'T USE LIME WIRE, SUPPORT THESE GUYS THERE THE BEST. CAN'T WAIT TILL THE MAYHEM FESTIVAL TO SEE THESE GUYS :D
I seriously woke up early in the morning to buy the album the day it came out. It was so worth it. This album kicks so much ass. I love the songs, especially Light From Above. You guys did an awesome job for your first album.
I'm 52 years old and just added you to my collection which consists of my 101yr. old father's and my 39yr. old mothers and my own. I've music from the Mississippi Queen to today covering just about every genre. I'm a 50's & 60's guy but love the guitarist as I am one. I watched the vid on MS Windows Media and thought I was listening to Blue Oyster Cult or Metallica, nope, BETTER!!! I bought the CD! I'm also shocked to find out how young the group is to play with the likes of these bands and possible the likes of even SRV and Clapton and Hendrix. The deuling guitars I absouletly loved, fantastic! You are headed for the big time for sure, so keep it coming and I'll see you in concert!
I pre-ordered my Light From Above CD after hearing Shockwave on the digital music cable TV channel. I FUCKIN LOVE that song!! It gives me fuckin' goose bumps and makes me wanna jump the fuck around!! I got the CD yesterday and it hasn't cooled off yet. If this CD were put out in the mid 80's, Black Tide would have given Metallica a run for their money! This CD is jam packed with raw energy. I love the layered guitar work and awesome vocal melodies. Gabriel's voice has a great fuckin' razor edge to it. Gabriel and Alexander's riffs shred your fuckin' eardrums, Zachary's low end kicks you in your guts, and Steven's skin-bashing stomps on your head until your begging for more! Not since Godsmack's self-tilted debut have I been so fuckin pumped about a band, and I can't wait for Black Tide to come to destroy upstate New York so I can see them live! GREAT FUCKING JOB, GUYS!! From a thirty-five year old metalhead.
I got the cd when it came out, i listened to some of the stuff they had online and was very impressed. The cd is awesome, i recommend it to any metalhead. I must say that, in my opinion, the best song on the album is "Warriors of Time", the song has an amazing intro and overall just a bad ass song. Anyways solid album and any Metallica fan will love the "Hit the lights" cover. Keep it coming guys!
I cannot thank the members of Black Tide enough for bringing the GOOD metal back into the 21st century. Most metal bands formed after 2000 are incredibly dissapointing, but you guys are absolutely mind blowing. I got Light From Above the day it came out and I can't stop myself from listening to it. One of the great things about it is the fact that they covered Metallic's Hit The Lights. Metallica is my favorite metal band and i always look forward to listening to the ample amount of songs that other bands have covered in honor of the thrash masters. Hit the Lights is no exception, it rocks guys. I can definately say I'm looking forward to further releases from you guys in the future. GABE KICKS ASS!!!
I just heard samples on iTunes and was totally blown away! I've been waiting for some real "new" metal to come. Early Man and Bullets & Octane were quite short of expectations but these kids have got it right! Classic metal lives! More power to you guys!
Finally....Fucking NEW Metal worth listening to. Finally an metal album that i dont have to skip through looking for the good songs....THEY ALL KICK FUCKING ASSSSSSSSS!!!!!
I have heard your single on the radio today (the point in St. Louis) and I got really excited! Finally, someone that ROCKS the way it is supposed to be. Thank you for bringing the ROCK back! I will spread this recording like a bad virus. This I swear to you guys! Thanks again Jeff (a rocker from the day)
